For Your Safety: Consider the heat and humidity when making your RSVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Take precautions against the sun, such as sunscreen and a hat. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks and other biting insects. Poison ivy is common on many trails.
Meet at 8:45am for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 9:00am. Hosted by Derek Shephard with Sweep Meredith Gray.
—Prerequisite: Instructional clinic and ability to walk on uneven terrain (mainly dirt trails with many roots).
—Distance: 3miles. No turn-back or shorter option.
—Pace: Slow
—Terrain: roots, rocks, pavement, and short sandy section.
We will do both loops on this walk for a total of 3 miles. This is a beautiful walk along the Bass River mostly in the woods.
—Limit 7 walkers, including Host and Sweep. No waitlist. Please do not sign up if you see the Closed/Full sign or if walk has reached its limit.
—Limit 1 walk per day and 3 RSVPs per week (Sunday to Saturday) to give others the chance to walk. If you are already holding 3 RSVPs for the week of this walk, please do not sign up.
—Wear your CCNW ID badge.
—Wear shoes with good sole.
—Restrooms and water are/are not available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag for a bio break. —Kindly update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time if your plans change. This allows the Host to plan and accommodate other walkers.
Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 1 hour in advance. Check this FB event for last-minute notifications before heading out.

The trail head for this walk is next to the Dennis Rail Trail Parking (you will see a big sign for the Rail Trail). The parking lot is on Main Street next to the Old South Dennis Cemetery at 485 Main Street, South Dennis, MA 02660. Do not put the Dennis Rail Trail into your GPS because it will bring you to a location on Rte. 134 – we are NOT on Rte. 134.
